Report on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day

9 August 2023

On August 9, 2023, Salafiyya Training College, Karinganad, organized a meaningful program in observance of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day under the auspices of the Social Science Club. The event aimed to raise awareness about the devastating consequences of nuclear warfare and to promote peace, tolerance, and global harmony.

As part of the observance, a poster-making competition was conducted with the theme “Peace for a Better World.” Students actively participated and used their creativity to convey powerful messages through visual art. The posters depicted the horrors of the atomic bombings and called for the elimination of nuclear weapons, emphasizing the importance of unity, diplomacy, and peaceful coexistence.

The program provided an opportunity for students to reflect on historical events and express their commitment to building a peaceful future. Faculty members appreciated the students’ thoughtful contributions and encouraged further engagement in social issues through creative expression.

The event successfully reinforced the role of art in education and awareness-building, making Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day a reflective and inspiring occasion.
